Your line has too much memory. If you take a length of it and hold one end, it should not look like a slinky. Find a line that falls straight or almost straight when you hold one end. No more tangles.

For about fifty bucks you can get regular decent quality spinning reel and get rid of the new reel then.

Have a tackle shop fill your reel with line, most good shops have a machine for this.
